Tom Acousti developed his performing and songwriter craft living in New York, LA, and Nashville while delivering more than 1,000 college campus concerts nationwide during the 1990s. First trained as an actor at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Acousti originated a lead role (Nick Piazza) in Fame, the musical which went on to be staged in London’s West End and throughout the world. In 1994, he was a 7 time winner on the national T.V. program, Star Search performing all original music.
Since retiring from touring and returning home to Maine, Tom has taught songwriting and music production, managed a performing arts center, and produced music for film and albums for aspiring artists.
Tom is married to retired Freeport teacher, Diane Acousti where the couple own and operate GFF (Ground Floor, Freeport), a recording studio, stage, and event-venue in the heart of the village.
